It called for a legal mechanism to standardise and cap charges for essential treatments and routine procedures in private hospitals, mandatory disclosure of treatment costs before admission, and a fast-track grievance redressal mechanism for complaints related to billing.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"19\"\/>Beyond room rents, the panel, headed by SP MP Ram Gopal Yadav, proposed standardised package rates for common medical and surgical procedures. It also recommended advance cost estimates for complex treatments, financial navigators to guide patients on treatment costs and insurance, and \u2018Continuum of Care\u2019 packages covering screening, treatment and palliative care under a single capped payment.
